International Finals Roadmap

Reviewed 2026-10-29

This roadmap covers peak performance preparation for the WorldSkills International competition. At this level, technical skills are assumed - the focus is on execution, time management, and handling the pressure of the global stage.

  • Flawless execution under observation
  • Zero wasted time - every minute counts
  • Complete documentation produced in parallel with task execution
  • Adaptability to unexpected twists and unknown environments

WorldSkills International runs Cyber Security as a two-person team event over four competition days, without internet access. Each competition sets its own modules, timings and marks in its Technical Description and Marking Scheme, and those are not published. Recent competitions have covered the four areas this site is organised around: infrastructure hardening, digital forensics and incident response, offensive operations (red team CTF) and defensive operations (blue team).

What does not change between competitions is the marking standard. The WSOS 2026 weights Operations and management (the offensive section) highest, at 20%. Communication counts for 10%, so reports and documentation earn marks in their own right.

All content from Regional → National → Squad Selection applies.

Additional international-level complexities:

  • Simulate competition conditions (noise, observation, time pressure)
  • Practice decision-making under uncertainty
  • Develop efficient documentation workflows (templates, screenshots automation)
  • Build mental resilience (see Competition Psychology)

  • Can complete any previous test project at 100% accuracy
  • Documentation is competition-ready (clear, concise, compliant)
  • Perform under pressure without accuracy loss
  • Handle unknowns with structured problem-solving approach
